Farmtrac ESL10776 Oil Seal for Transmission Input Shaft

Farmtrac Oil Seal Trans Input Shaft: #ESL10776

• Function: This seal prevents transmission fluid from leaking out of the front of the transmission housing where the input shaft connects to the clutch and engine.
• OEM Reference: It is cross-referenced with the manufacturer part number D9NN-C729-AA.
• Compatibility: This seal is designed for Farmtrac 35, 45, and 60 tractors.
• Maintenance Indicator: If you notice oil dripping from the “weep hole” at the bottom of the tractor’s bell housing (between the engine and transmission), this input shaft seal may be failing, potentially contaminating the clutch with oil. 

Steering Column ContextAs previously noted, ESL10776 is also the primary part number for the Steering Column Bushing. In manual steering systems, there is often no “oil seal” at the top of the column because the steering box is filled with grease or heavy oil at a lower level. 

• Dust Seal vs. Oil Seal: According to discussions on OrangeTractorTalks, if your steering wheel is leaking oil, you likely have a power steering model where a separate hydraulic seal (not ESL10776) has failed.
• Bushing Role: The ESL10776 bushing (OEM 86NH-3517-AA) provides structural support; if it is worn, the steering shaft will wobble, which can eventually cause the lower seals in the steering box to fail due to misalignment.
