Description
An old Disston Philadelphia rip saw fitted with what I assume is a replacement hardwood handle as there is no Disston medallion.
This nib on this old Disston nibbed saw almost looks like a saw tooth.
This old saw retains its partial etching ‘Henry Disston & Sons, Keystone Sawworks, Philadelphia, USA’. It is also marked ‘Extra London Spring’ which was the mark of their top quality saws.
It also has an advertising etching ‘Henry Disston & Sons Expressly For Aird Car…. St Brighton’.
The teeth per inch starts at 3 1/2 and graduates to 4 1/2 at the end.
TPI: 3 1/2 – 4 1/2
Blade length: 28″
Condition: blade is straight, all teeth present, feels sharp but assume would benefit from a sharpen, please see photos for condition.
