A very early straight Addis wood carving tool – shallow gouge marked simply as ‘Addis’
The handle very unusually has skillfully had the wooden handle dovetailed to a metal piece where the handle meets the blade.
There is a fine shrinkage crack running from the top to two sides of the handle, sold as a collectable.
We believe this carving tool dates between 1790 – 1850, most probably between 1790 – 1820.
A real tactile piece of history.
Width: 10mm
Condition: there is a fine shrinkage crack running from the top to two sides of the handle, sold as a collectable, please see photos for condition.
